The shades of 'Ultimate Gray' and 'Illuminating' have been chosen for their warmth and dependability. They have been described as "practical and rock solid but at the same time warming and optimistic". Pantone's ability to forecast colour trends is a marketing force used by furniture, textile and fashion designers from season to season, so this may be the reason that this colour combination has been so widely used this past year.
Grey and yellow not your cup of tea? So how about this 'Classic Blue'? (Pantone's Colour of the Year 2020).
It's easy to see how influential Pantone's choices are, as many more of us have included bolder colours such as this in colour schemes in our homes. Not everyone will be a fan, but for every hater there are many more who love it!
